The American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM) is one of the best Baltimore attractions and worth a visit even if there wouldn't be a special event each year.

It opened its doors in November 1995 and since then exhibits artwork by outsider artists and organizes large-scale exhibitions - creations by self-taught visionary artists.

Each Year - starting in October, they organize a special new and year long exhibition where different artists feature works to a special theme. Of course, every contribution is produced by an untrained artist. That guarantees some unexpected views on things and makes for a wonderful experience.
