Not really. But when I came across this sign, I instantly remembered the aroma of real cowboy coffee brewed in the outdoors over a crackling wood fire.
Martin claims to brew the best cowboy coffee in the world. According to him it has to be dark and strong enough to scare off the bears, wolfs and coyotes. The brew is not worth to be called cowboy coffee if it doesn't keep you alert and in the saddle for a whole day.
Coffee grounds have to have just the right coarseness: not too thick or the pieces will float and not too fine because you don't want Turkish coffee either. Good water is the essential ingredient and so is a pinch of salt.
He brings the water to a slight boil, ads the coffee grounds and then takes it immediately from the fire or it will become bitter. To settle the grounds he adds a drop of cold water and then pours it gently into cups.
I can't tell if we didn't see any bears that day because of his cowboy coffee brewing ability, but it sure kept me awake for longer than just a day.
