The "Ice Sculpting Capital of the World" - Fairbanks, Alaska - is celebrating another BP World Ice Art Championships, and international ice sculpting competition, organized by Ice Alaska, a non-profit corporation.
The World Ice Art Championships is held annually since 1988, when the tradition of ice sculpting, a feature of the Fairbanks Winter Carnival celebrations, was revived.
More than 70 teams from over 30 countries are participating in the World Ice Art Championships. Approximately 45,000 spectators visit the the competitions in the Ice Park during the Fairbanks winter carnival.
The kids enjoy their own park, and the ice maze is fun for kids of all ages.
