Outsider Art Fairs and Exhibitions are dedicated to outsider artists - people that are virtually unaffected by official cultural boundaries.

Outsider Art is an English synonym for art brut (French for "rough art" or "raw art"), a label given by the French artist Jean Dubuffet.

Outsider Art is sometimes broadly applied to primitive art, naïve art, visionary art, intuitive art and even folk art - although the latter was clearly defined as art by indigenous cultures by the National Endowment for the Arts - as "learned at the knee" and passed from generation to generation.
