Pandora's Box
Tiny Houses With a Purpose

Simplicity taken to the extreme

Inspired by the 19th century American writer Henry David Thoreau, who lived two years in a small cabin near lake Walden, Massachusetts - German designer and architect Lars Holger Moormann created a multi-purpose garden shed called Walden.

Walden Shed

Downsizing taken seriously

The wooden box may be tiny, nevertheless there's a place for everything. It offers ultra functional storage room for garden tools - from garden hose to wheelbarrow - and living quarters with barbecue, built in woodshed and dishes neatly placed like decorating objects in sunken cabinets accessible

from the outside. The inside-out dining room is not only a place to enjoy a meal alone or with friends but also a retreat to read a book from the special designed library behind the comfortable bench for four.

Sleeping under the stars

The small bedroom is accessible by a stair right inside the tiny house, where a double bed invites to stargaze. What more is needed for a simple weekend.

If necessary, Walden can easily be moved to a new location without too much hassle.

tiny houses

I wonder if this geniously designed little garden shed would pass the building code for a Swiss community garden?

mini houses

Living with less resonates with more and more people. Mini houses are becoming a trend, and green living mainstream. the last two examples

A perfect master piece.! The Condusive Box to live in and relax  A perfect master piece! The Condusive Box to live in and relax. I saw in a television those invented portable houses and they woohhed me with its beauty....

I want to live in one of these.  Well if I can get three or four of these. Then nail them together, and connect them to a sewer line,..yeah then I'd want to live in one of these.

imagine...  ... you live in Florida, on a beautiful lake just outside of wonderful Orlando. (There are many lakes here). And you get the news that a hurricane is headed ...

got one!  20 ft long, 8 ft wide, 8 ft high & has EVERYTHING!
electric , water, septic, heat, air condition, food storage and refrigerator, sleeps 4 and can be totally ...

Not sure...  Love the idea. However, would like just a little more width. Seems like a rather tight squeeze. Would need to see, touch and review in person before ...

Another Way?  This tiny house and others demonstrate that, in our culture, want often translates into "need". Not everyone in a humongous space is even raising a family....
