Visit Italy and
Discover a True Italian Gem

Do you want something a little different than the usual glitzy, touristy ghetto-style hotels when you visit Italy? We were transported back to a bygone era when we stayed in the Palace del Prete di Belmonte.

The first time I saw this lovely house, I was really astonished and almost overwhelmed by its grandeur and magnificence. But after only a few minutes all seemed to become smaller and soon familier and comfortable due to the extraordinary simple, warm and humble welcome of the lady of the house, Mrs. Dorothy.

I was impressed by her passion for her remarkable home. Proudly but without hauteur she showed us the beauty of her estate that emanates noble simplicity and quiet grandeur. That, and the neoclassical style of the house made me feel instantly at home. Here, the dimension of time hardly exist.

I would suggest a visit to this Palace just to unlearn some preconceived notions about nobility and learn more about art and classicism. Moreover, this historical palace is surrounded by ancient olive groves, vineyards and numerous pre-Roman archaeological sites. It lies on the edge of the Abruzzo National Park, Italy’s largest and a model for nature conservation and environmental safeguard, and largely still an insider’s tip.

Grüezi Alex,

Thank you so much for letting us know about this gorgeous Bed and Breakfast. I bet Dorothy could tell us a lot of stories about this marvel of a medieval palazzo, a travel highlight in itself.

On top, Venafro, situated practically in the shin of the Italian 'boot', is a gem of a city. I fell in love instantly. But then again, each time I visit Italy I fall in love with everything. I travelled through Italy more times than I can count; unfortunately, I never got to know Prete di Belmonte. This Palazzo looks exactly like the place that could stop me in my tracks for at least a week!

Gorgeous and lovely palace! We plan to visit relatives near Turin next year. I will keep that stunning place in mind should we have time to travel further south.
